Established in 1987, Senior Healthcare Associates provides residents of long-term care facilities with on-site diagnostic evaluations and other innovative, medical services that enhance their quality of life at no cost to the facility. We assume responsibility for all billing through Medicare, Medicaid and other supplemental insurances for services Senior Healthcare Associates provides to residents in your facility. Our professionalism and expertise will help you reduce exposure to risk, save money, staff time and confusion.

Our partnership will be easy, turnkey and productive anticipating and satisfying client needs are vital to any professional client-service relationship and remains at the very core of the Senior Healthcare Associates system for success, producing significant results in partnerships with our existing long-term care facilities. Here's an overview of the process:

  • Services can begin within eight weeks of an established agreement.
  • Upon agreement, the facility will be asked to provide updated resident admissions, insurance information, resident consent, and responsible party information.
  • Once all the information is compiled, we can then begin scheduling services with our providers.

Founder

Dr. John P. Balko, President/C.E.O. of Senior Healthcare Associates, received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Clarion State College. He earned a double major in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Kent State University. He earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association in 1975 and is Board Certified to practice Clinical Audiology in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in the states of Ohio and West Virginia.

His participation in Post Graduate Education has given him national recognition for continuing education. He earned his Au.D. from the Arizona School of Health Science, Kirksville School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. Dr. Balko has served as president of the Society of Medical Audiology and he is a past president of the National Hearing Conservation Association. He is one of the founding members of the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists. He has lectured locally and nationally and has authored publications in several national journals and has also written chapters in a text book for higher education in audiology. Dr. Balko has been in private practice in Greenville and currently Hermitage, PA since 1970. Together with his staff audiologists and nationally certified audiometric technicians, they perform diagnostic hearing and balance evaluations and provide rehabilitative services in both his private practice - Hearing Healthcare Associates and his nursing home practice - Senior Healthcare Associates.
